2022 LEKO Gamay – 93 Points – Mike Bennie Review (The Winefront)

Deanery Vineyard in Adelaide Hills is the host for this frisky gamay.

It’s light, crunchy and vibrant in its nature. On tasting I thought ‘should put this in the fridge’ and so I did, and geez, did it up the ante of drinkability. All charm at regular red wine temp though too – sour cherry a strong currency, tart cranberry, woody spices and dashes of fennel, anise and white pepper. It offers up a sheath of lacy, silty tannin for shape, shy of medium weight, long in its trail of crisp, red berry fruit and the herbal notes imbued within. Cool, delightful drinking.
