2022 Classic Red Wine - 94 points – The Winefront (Mike Bennie)
A blend of cabernet sauvignon and (2%) sciacarello. The 1%ers maker the difference. This bottle says Classico but it is now just a plain old Classic, no ‘O’.
This is outstanding. It does potent yet svelte cabernet while dialing in a bit of superstar x-factor. Cassis, black olive, clove and cedar gently laid in, game meat, curiously. blood orange, wild herbs and amaro too. Quite a bit of density and richness but then so very, very fresh. Succulent texture, a refreshment factor, but satisfying richness too. A wine for all. And classy. And Classic, it seems. Yes, thanks.
