This is cabernet sauvignon off heavier soils from the Vivian vineyard with a barely there addition (2%) of sciacarello. Blackcurrant, blackberry, some fennel and anise, a hint of cherry cola, bresaola and a savoury tobacco tar element that exists beyond the perimeter of fruit. Stately and firm, it flexes its structural boundary to let the light of radiant acidity beam through. It feels like a future icon and evokes a thought to visit your butcher, call your mate, get the steaks on a plate and decant this wine ceremoniously.
